First of all, the food is awesome. It reminds me of my childhood. And no one makes butterbeans like my Mama. OMG. The pies. This food will fix bad politics! But the best part is the people. The service was top notch. The young man that seated us was prompt and to the point. A multitasking fool, he was. The waitress was efficient, friendly and got it done for our table of 8. The day went so well that I walked out without my credit card, or it fell on the floor or something, but I got all the way home and realized the next day that the card was not with me. I called and asked about the card at 9:44 on a Saturday evening. I am in the restaurant business. It is not a smart thing to call a busy restaurant on a Saturday night, but they were wonderful. You could hear that they were busy. The gentleman on the phone was very polite and took my information and said that they would check. "Sure." I said in my head. Then today, I got a call from Hoovers. They had the card. My daughter picked it up an hour or so later, and I will have my card back tonight. What a great place. What thoughtful and caring staff. And again, the food is food for the soul. This place is my go to place when I need to feel good about the world. :)

This was my first time at Hoovers. We arrived as the restaurant was opening, and there were already people waiting to get in, so I knew this place was going to be awesome. The host staff were funny, and our waiter was friendly and helpful. The atmosphere was great with good music playing. The menu had a great selection, and the prices were reasonable. My burger was delicious. I will definitely be back whenever I come back to visit Austin.

GREAT food at a reasonable price! Our waiter, Kevin, was so friendly and amazing! Chicken fried steak, catfish, wings, bread pudding, margaritas! All superb! And the sides! To die for! On a scale of 1 - 10, gets a 20!!
